The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) hosted the Budmouth Technology College Year 13 leavers’ ball on 1st July. Budmouth College is a very successful, Weymouth based comprehensive technology college for girls and boys.
The ball was a black tie event with a two course meal and was attended by about 130 guests. As the Year 13 leavers celebrated their achievements, the ball certainly entertained. The guests enjoyed drinks on arrival before the night kicked off with live music. Shooter, an experienced cover band from Weymouth, performed throughout the night and captivated the crowd as they have done in the past.
The WPNSA provided Budmouth College students with an ideal location to host their ball. As it is set to host the sailing events at the 2012 Games, the venue has become increasingly popular and highly regarded for both sailing and non-sailing events. The Spinnakers function room at the Academy has a seated capacity of up to 150 and catering facilities which deliver to the highest standard. With a private balcony that has breathtaking views overlooking Portland Harbour, it was the perfect event location for these students on a very special night for them.
John Tweed, Chief Executive at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy commented, “We were delighted to host this event at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy as we are involved with many local schools through sailing events at the Academy. We have met a lot of the children learning to sail and it was great to host this very special event for them outside of sailing.”
