Weymouth’s golden sands stretch for 3 miles along the coastline and is often referred to as one of the most beautiful beaches in the British Isles. As well as offering spectacular and panoramic views across the bay, the beach is home to a wide-variety of activities and entertainments. For those just wanting to relax, there’s nothing better than soaking up the sun and swimming in the beautiful blue warm waters, and for those wanting something a bit more active, a variety of watersports are available, with equipment available for hire.
Children are well taken care of, traditional Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides and a whole host of other fun activities mean that children will always have something fun to do. Safety is paramount at Weymouth Beach, and parents and indeed all visitors can safely be assured that lifeguards are on duty along the beach from May to September.
Weymouth Beach’s most exciting new attraction is the award winning Sandworld which features stunning sand sculptures from some of the world’s most exciting artists. As well as the sand sculptures on display, visitors are encouraged to get involved and can make their own sculptures in the specially designated sculpting areas, whilst younger children can play safely in Sandworld’s dedicated play area.
With its wonderful gift shop and on-site café, Sandworld is a great way to spend your time on Weymouth Beach.
