Andy Spreadbury a former Dorset seaside train line worker has launched a campaign – he believes that re-launching the train line would not only help boost tourism but solve some of the parking problems in the town during the summer. The Weymouth seafront train line first opened in 1865 to provide a link from the railway station to the quay and Channel Island ferry (currently the Condor Ferry). At the moment Weymouth and Portland Council are just putting it out to public consultation to see what the people of Weymouth think.
